Pivot Chart

Use the Pivot Chart widget to visualize the data from a Pivot Grid widget.

A Pivot Grid widget must exist on the app board before you can add a Pivot Chart.

Pivot Chart widget properties

Use this property	To do this
General tab
Name	Type an internal name for the widget.
Title	Type a title for the Pivot Chart widget box. If necessary, adjust the appearance of the title.
Title Bar Visibility	Specify the visibility of the widget title bar. Choose one of the following: Above Overlay Hidden (outside Designer only)
Tile tab
Background Color	Specify the background color of the list.
Text Color	Specify the color of text in the list.
Show Shadow	Display a shadow on the widget.
Show Title Row Border	Display borders around the title row of the widget.
Font Size	Specify the size of the widget title.
Font Preview	Shows you how your font selections will affect the widget title.
Bold	Display the widget title text in bold.
Italic	Display the widget title text in italics.
Linked Pivot Grid tab
Link to Pivot Grid	Select a Pivot Grid to link to.
Chart Series Represent the Pivot Grid's	Specify what the chart series represents from the Pivot Grid. Choose one of the following: Columns Rows
Alternate the Data Fields	If you have multiple data fields and you want to alternate them, select the check box.
Put Data Fields Into	Specify what you want to put the data fields into. Choose one of the following: Series Arguments on X Axis
Display Mode	Specify the number of Y axes. Choose one of the following: Single Y Axis Multiple Y Axis
Series tab
Series	Click Add Series to add a chart series. Click the Properties icon to edit the chart series properties.
Chart Series Properties (General tab)
Name	Type a name for the series.
Description (if differs from Name)	Type a description for the series.
Type	Defaults to Stacked Bar chart.
Series Color	Specify a color for the series.
Chart Series Properties (Labels tab)
Show Labels	Display labels for the series. These are the labels displayed within the chart, not the axis labels.
Show for Zero Values	Select the check box to display labels for data in the series with zero values.
Show Connector Lines	Display small lines to connect the labels with points on the series.
Label	Specify the value to display on the label. Use curly brackets to specify parameter values. Click to adjust the label value format. For example, you can change the format from a number to a percentage.
Position	Specify the position of the label in relation to the chart data. Choose from the following: Outside Inside Columns
Chart Series Properties (Tooltips tab)
Show Tooltips	Select the check box to display tooltips when you hover over chart elements. By default, this is set to the same state as the Show Tooltips field on the Pivot Chart Properties > Options > Other tab.
Label	Specify the value to display as a label. Use curly brackets to specify parameter values. Click to adjust the label value format. For example, you can change the format from a number to a percentage.
Chart Series Properties (Markers tab)
Label	Specify the value to display as a label. Use curly brackets to specify parameter values. Click to adjust the label value format. For example, you can change the format from a number to a percentage.
Symbol	Specify a symbol to use for the point markers. Choose from the following: Circle Square Diamond Triangle Up Triangle Down Cross
Size	Specify a numerical value to control the size of the markers.
Chart Series Properties (Bubble tab)
Bubble Min Size	Specify a numerical value to control the minimum size of chart bubbles.
Bubble Max Size	Specify a numerical value to control the maximum size of chart bubbles.
Chart Series Properties (Options tab)
Show on Secondary Y Axis	Display the Y axis on the right side of the chart.
Show in Legend	Include the series name in the chart legend.
Ignore Null/Empty Points	Don't include points associated with null or empy values in the series.
Smooth Curves	Display sequences of data points on line charts using curves instead of hard angles.
Options > Axes > X tab
Show Axis	Select the check box to show the axis.
Title	Type a title for the axis. If necessary, adjust the appearance of the title.
Label	Specify the label format for the axis. Click . In the Value Formatting dialog box, for Format, type a value. If you want to display the distance unit of measure, select the Show k/mil check box. For Thousands Value Format, type the format. For Millions Value Format, type the format. For Trim Trailing Zeros, choose one of the following: Never Except When Shown As k/mil Only When Shown As k/mil Always Click OK.
Font Size	Specify the size of the axis label.
Font Preview	Shows you how your font selections will affect the axis label.
Bold	Displays the axis label in bold.
Show Grid Lines	Displays grid lines for the axis.
Discrete Axis Value	Select this if the values are separate and distinct (not continuous).
Label Overflow	Specify how to display the labels if they overlap other labels. Choose one of the following: Hide: hides the overlapped labels None: displays all labels, regardless of overlapped text Rotate: rotates labels to the degree specified. Some labels may be hidden to make the axis readable. Stagger: displays labels on two alternating rows. Some labels may be hidden to make the axis readable.
Overlap Rotate	If you set Label Overflow to Rotate, specify the degree of rotation for the labels.
Overlap Stagger	If you set Label Overflow to Stagger, specify the amount to stagger.
Zoom and Scroll	Select the check box to zoom in on and scroll the label.
Min	Specify a minimum value for the axis.
Max	Specify a maximum value for the axis.
Swap X and Y Axes	Select this to swap the display of the two axes.
Options > Axes > Y and Secondary Y tabs
Show Axis	Select the check box to show the axis.

Options > Legend tab
Show Legend	Select the check box to display a legend. Adjust the remaining fields on the tab as necessary.
Label	Specify the value to display on the label. Use curly brackets to specify parameter values. Click to adjust the label value format. For example, you can change the format from a number to a percentage.
Position	Specify where the legend should appear relative to the chart.
Orientation	Select whether the legend should be oriented vertically or horizontally.
Columns	Select the number of columns to include. The default is auto.
Rows	Select the number of rows to include. The default is auto.
Text Position	Select where the legend item labels should appear relative to the legend entries.
Margin	Select how much margin space should separate the legend from the edge of the chart.
Padding	Select how much margin space should surround the legend.
Options > Colors tab
Use Color Palette	Specify a predefined color palette to apply to the chart.
Options > Tooltips tab
Show Tooltips	Select the check box to display tooltips when you hover over chart elements.
Options > Crosshair tab
Show Crosshair	Select the check box to display a crosshair. Adjust the following: Indicator on X Axis Indicator on Y Axis Color
Options > Other tab
Single-Selection Mode	Select the check box to turn on single selection mode.
Show Animation	Select the check box to show animation on the chart.
K/M/B Summarization (Default)	Select to display large numbers in summarized notation.
Show Series Labels (Default)	Select the check box to show the series labels.
Font Size	Specify the size of the series label.
Font Preview	This text gives you a preview of how your font selections will affect the series label.
Bold	Display the series label in bold.
Show Tooltips	Select the check box to display tooltips when you hover over chart elements.
Font Size	Specify the size of the tooltips.
Font Preview	This text gives you a preview of how your font selections will affect the tooltips.
Bold	Display the tooltips in bold.
Overlapping Labels	Specify how to handle overlapping labels. Choose from the following: Overlap Hide Move
Button Visibility tab
Refresh	Show or hide the Refresh button on the widget toolbar.
Show/Hide Legend	Show or hide the Show/Hide Legend button on the widget toolbar.
Events tab
Add Event Handler	Add events to the widget. For When/On, specify when you want the event to occur. For Then, specify the action that you want to occur.
