Adding events to app boards and widgets
You can add events to app boards and widgets.
Events will execute when you open an app board with events in Layout Designer. If the app board has many events that will slow down the app board, you can disable them in Layout Designer.

- On the Navigation toolbar, select Layout Designer

- In the Layout Designer pane, in the Projects section, select an app board.
The app board opens.
- Click
and choose Properties.
- In the App Properties dialog box, on the Events tab, select Add Event Handler.
A new event handler is displayed.
- Specify when you want the event to occur. For When/On, choose from the following:
- Closing
- Created
- Every 30s
- Every 60s
- Macro Completed
- Macro Failed
- Macro Succeeded
- Specify the action that you want to occur. For Then, choose from the following:
- Refresh App Board
- Save App Board
- Macros [macro names]: Runs a macro, if available.
- Navigation Actions [app board names]: Navigates to another app board.
Macros will not be available if your event is based on another macro (Macro Completed, Macro Failed, Macro Succeeded). - Click OK.
- Continue adding events as necessary.Events are processed in the order that they appear in the list. To change the event order, select the move handle and drag the widget to a new position.
- Click Save.

- On the Navigation toolbar, select Layout Designer

In the Projects section, select
and disable Execute Events.
- Click Save.
Disabling events will not affect other users.

- On the Navigation toolbar, select Layout Designer
.
- In the Layout Designer pane, in the Projects section, select an app board with a widget that you want to modify.
The app board opens.
- In the title bar of the widget that you want to modify, select
.
- In the widget properties dialog box, on the Events tab, select Add Event Handler.
A new event handler is displayed.
- Specify when you want the event to occur. For When/On, choose from the following:
- Clicked
- Created
- Edit In Excel Saved
- Every 30s
- Every 60s
- Macro Completed
- Macro Failed
- Macro Succeeded
- Refreshed
- Saved
- Specify the action that you want to occur. For Then, choose from the following:
- Disable This Widget
- Enable This Widget
- Refresh App Board
- Refresh This Widget
- Save
- Save App Board
- Macros [macro names]: Runs a macro, if available.
- Navigation Actions [app board names]: Navigates to another app board.
Macros will not be available if your event is based on another macro (Macro Completed, Macro Failed, Macro Succeeded). - Click OK.
- Continue adding events as necessary.Events are processed in the order that they appear in the list. To change the event order, select the move handle of an event and drag it to a new position.
- Click Save.
