Panel

Use the Panel widget to create a group of widgets that you can manipulate with a single event.

Panel widget properties

Use this property To do this
General tab
Name Type an internal name for the widget.
Title Type a title for the Panel widget box. If necessary, adjust the appearance of the title.
Title Bar Visibility

Specify the visibility of the widget title bar. Choose one of the following:

  • Above
  • Overlay
  • Hidden (outside Designer only)
Layout Choose a widget placeholder layout.

This property is available only when you first create the widget.

Columns Specify the maximum number of widgets that you can add to each row.

This property becomes available only when you edit an existing panel widget.

Rows Specify how many rows are available within which you can add widgets.

This property becomes available only when you edit an existing panel widget.

Tile tab
Background Color Specify the background color of the widget.
Text Color Specify the color of text in the widget title.
Show Shadow Display a shadow on the widget.
Show Title Row Border Display borders around the title row of the widget.
Font Size Specify the font size for the widget title.
Font Preview Shows you how your font selections will affect the widget title.
Bold Display the widget title text in bold.
Italic Display the widget title text in italics.
Style tab
Background Color Specify the background color of the widget.
Select Image

Specify an image to display as a background behind the widget. Use the dropdown arrow to see a grid of available graphics.

Specify the size of the selected image.

  • Fit: Re-size the image to fit within the widget’s width and height while retaining the image's original proportions. The entire image is visible.

  • Fill: Scale the image so that it will fill the entire widget area. To prevent distortion, the image may be cropped. This is the default.

  • Actual Size: Use the image's exact size. If the image does not fit within the widget, it is cropped to fit. If the image is too small for the space, there is blank space around the image with the color specified by the Background Color setting.

  • Fixed: Select this to specify a fixed size for the image. The Width and Height fields will appear.

Width (in pixels) When you select a Fixed image size, enter the width required.
Height (in pixels) When you select a Fixed image size, enter the height required.
Horizontal Position Specify how the selected image should be positioned horizontally. The default is to center the image.
Vertical Position Specify how the selected image should be positioned vertically. The default is to center the image.
Button Visibility tab
Refresh Show or hide the Refresh button on the widget toolbar.
Events tab
Add Event Handler Add events to the widget.
  1. For When/On, specify when you want the event to occur.
  2. For Then, specify the action that you want to occur.
