App ViewStates and layouts
When you change the layout configuration of a widget or app board from the default state specified by the designer, your changes are saved and automatically applied in your next work session. The configuration of all of the widget layouts within an app board, as well as the layout of the app board itself, is called its ViewState.
For example, if you open a grid and change the sort order for a column, the sort order is retained until you change it again or reset the ViewState to its default configuration.
- ViewStates encompass entire app boards, not individual widgets. When you reset a ViewState, all of the widgets on the active app board are affected.
- ViewStates are applicable only for individual app users.
- If the app designer modifies the default ViewState for an app board, the ViewState is reset to the new default for all app users. A message noting the change is also displayed for affected app users.

You can change the size and position of widgets only if the app designer configures the app to allow layout changes.
- Do either of the following:
To Do this Change the size of a widget - Click the bottom right corner of the widget, and drag the widget border horizontally (to adjust width) or vertically (to adjust height).
Change the position of a widget - Click the upper left corner of the widget, and drag the widget to a new position.

You can reset app ViewStates to their defaults.
- Open an app.
- In the application header, click
, and choose Revert View.
The active app board reverts to the default ViewState.
