Add a macro to an app or project
- On the Navigation toolbar, select Layout Designer
.
- In the Layout Designer pane, in the Projects section, select an app or project.
- Click Create New, and choose Macro.
The Macro dialog box is displayed.
- On the General tab, adjust or provide information for the following:
- Name — type a name for the widget. The following special characters are not allowed in the name: & < > " '
- Show On Widget Events Tab — select the check box to allow the macro to be selected when specifying the properties of widget events.
- Icon — select Choose an icon to specify the icon that is displayed with the macro name in the Layout Designer pane.
- Comments — type notes or a description of the macro.
- Max Runs per Action — specify how many times a macro configured to repeat actions can continue to run. The default number of times a macro will loop through its actions is 1 and the maximum number of times is 1000. If a macro attempts to repeat a run more than the specified number of times an error message is displayed.
- If necessary, on the Parameters tab, associate parameters or local variables with the macro.
- Click OK.
The macro is created. The Start icon is displayed in the center of the design surface.
- Add one or more actions to the macro.
- Click Save.
