Map templates

You can export the definition of maps as templates, then import them into other models. The template captures the layer settings and map markers of the selected map.

Uploading models to and downloading models from Supply Chain does not include map definitions. However, you can use map templates to transfer maps between the desktop and cloud. Templates exported from the desktop can be imported to the cloud, and templates exported from the cloud can be imported to the desktop application.

Export a map template

1. Select Analyze > Maps.
2. In the navigation pane, select the map to export.
3. Click Export. You see the Export Template form.
4. Click Export. You can enter a name for the template containing the document definitions. The default name is SCGX_Map_Template.zip.

You can also export map templates using the Export Templates tool as described in Exporting document templates.

Import a map template

1. Select Analyze > Maps.
2. Click Import. You see the Import Template form.
3. Enter the file path, or use Browse [...] to navigate to the template definition file to import, then click Open. If you have exported a map template from the desktop product, you can import the map to Modeler. Likewise, map templates from Modeler can be imported into the desktop product. If you have added differentiation to points or connections, the results may differ between the two applications.
4. Click Import. The map definition is imported from the template definition file and opens the map in a new tab.
