CAST Conversion
Use the CAST Conversion transformation to convert the CAST model to a Supply Chain Guru X Network Optimization model.
You may need to download a new converter if the converter has been updated after the Supply Chain Guru X release. To obtain and use the new converter:
- Use the CAST Converter link on the Supply Chain Guru X Getting Started page to obtain the latest converter from the LLama Learning Center. The converter is a Data Guru project.
- Set up the new converter as described in Data Guru tools.

- Run Supply Chain Guru X and open a new model.
- Select Model > Model Transformations.
- Select CAST Conversion.
- Enter or select values for the transform parameters:
- Server Name – The current SQL Server LocalDB instance name (typically “GURU-<username>”).
- CAST Model – This is the name of the CAST model to convert. It is the name of the CAST model you restored in SQL Server Management Studio.
- Current Model – This is the name of the current (new) model. The transformation will populate this model based on the data in the CAST Model.
- CAST Scenario ID – This is the CAST scenario you want to convert.
- Customer Prefix – Enter the prefix for records that are customers. The value will be prepended to the CAST Customer Code when creating Customer records. The default is CUS_.
