Data Guru tools
If you have Data Guru projects that you want to use with Supply Chain Guru X, you can add and configure them in the Data Guru Tools function.

- Select Data Guru
> Data Guru Tools.
- Click New Tool.
- Enter the name of the new Data Guru tool.
- Click Configuration. You see the Data Guru tool configuration tab.
- Enter an existing Data Guru project or click Browse
and navigate to the project (.dgproj) and click Open. By default, Supply Chain Guru X uses the default Data Guru folder when you first add a tool. Subsequently, the default location is the last folder used.
- Select one of the following to use for this tool:
- Workflow – Workflows defined in the project are listed.
- Macro – Macros defined in the project are listed.
- Action – Actions defined in the project are listed.
- Select the item (workflow, macro or action) in the list box that should be run.
- Configure the parameters for this item. For each parameter:
- Select the checkbox to include the parameter
- Select the type of parameter:
Parameter type Description Server Name Supply Chain Guru X passes the current user’s SQL Server instance name to the parameter. The default is “localDB”. Current Model Name Supply Chain Guru X passes the name of the current model to the parameter. New Model Supply Chain Guru X creates a new model with the name as specified by the parameter value. The new model is attached to the current user’s SQL Server instance. Interface Language Supply Chain Guru X returns the two-character code for the currently selected interface language. For example, if English is selected, the code “en” is returned, if Spanish is selected, the code “es” is returned. Scenario Supply Chain Guru X pulls all existing scenario names for selection, and passes the ID of the selected scenario to the parameter. The default is 0, for the Baseline scenario. Expanded Model Supply Chain Guru X expands the current model using the selected scenario (as described above). If no scenario is provided, Expanded Model uses 0 as the ScenarioID (for the Baseline scenario). The new model is named with the provided value and attached to the user’s SQL Server instance. String Supply Chain Guru X passes the entered value to the parameter. Integer Supply Chain Guru X passes the entered value to the parameter. Date Supply Chain Guru X passes the entered or selected value to the parameter. Boolean Supply Chain Guru X passes the entered or selected value to the parameter. - Enter a value if required for the parameters
- Click Apply.
Notes regarding parameters:
- For any string parameters, select whether the parameter is a Prompted Value, the Server Name, the Current Model Name, or a New Model.
- For New Models, specify how the model should be named.

- Tools persist when you close and re-run Supply Chain Guru X.
- Tools are not specific to the currently open model.
- Tools are specific to your user account. You will not see the tools of other Windows users.
- You can delete tool configurations you have created.

> Data Guru Tools.
- Select the tool you want to run.
- Click Run. You see the Run tab with a description of the operation and the parameters you need to populate.
- Click Run.
- Enter the values for any parameters you have configured.

In the case that the transformation is not successful, you have the option to open a file explorer window for the log file location.
