Generate an API key

Starting with Supply Chain 42, our documentation will be located on Coupa Compass. The help here will continue to be accessible for the foreseeable future, but will no longer be updated. If you need a Compass user account, contact your company’s Designated Support Contact (DSC).

Generate an API key

You can generate a key to use the Supply Chain API. Your key enables you to access your assets using Supply Chain API endpoints.

For information on the Supply Chain API, see the Supply Chain API Portal.

Your Customer Administrator must configure your account to use the API for you to be able to generate an API key.

In the application header, click the User icon .
Select User Settings.
Select Generate API Key.
Click Generate API Key. A new API key is generated and displayed.
Click Copy.
The key is copied to your clipboard. Save the key in a secure place for later access.
- API keys can't be accessed or recovered from Supply Chain. If you lose your key, you'll need to generate a new one to use the API.
- You can have only one API key at a time. If you have an API key and generate a new one, the older key is deactivated.
