Optimization and Simulation model structure
The model structure for Network Optimization, Inventory Optimization and Simulation includes these main items:
- Products
- Sites
- Customers
- Demand
- Production Policies
- Sourcing Policies
- Transportation Policies
- Inventory Policies
- Bills Of Material
These items combine to provide the nodes of the network, the links between the nodes, and the relationships created by these links. With the exception of Bills Of Material, they should be defined within every Network Optimization (Inventory Policies are optional), Inventory Optimization or Simulation model you create.
Additionally, Network Optimization can make use of various constraints as described in Network Optimization Constraint Overview.
Inventory Optimization can use several constraints and optional tables including:
- Customer Forecasts and Site Forecasts
- User Defined Customer Forecast Profile and User Defined Site Forecast Profile
- Safety Stock Optimization Constraints
- Service Level Optimization Constraints
- Service Level Optimization Parameters
