Modeling products
Products are a key element of any supply chain model. They must be delivered to customers to generate revenue, and they are required in every model.
Product elements
Every product is represented by these key elements:
- Name. The name or SKU of the product.
- Unit Value. The value of the product, as used in inventory cost calculations.
- Unit Price. The sale price, or the revenue generated by selling one unit of the product.
- Unit Weight. The weight of one unit of the product. By default, this value is expressed in pounds.
- Unit Volume. The volume of one unit of the product. By default, this value is expressed in cubic feet.
- Status. Used to determine whether to include or exclude the product when the model is run.
