Model size

Model size can have an impact on solver performance. Sources of model size issues include:

• Products not aggregated appropriately for a network design study.
• Superfluous or duplicate policies. For example, if a supplier does not source a particular manufacturing center, there should be no Transportation Policies defined between the supplier and manufacturer.
• Demand records for insignificant amounts of products. In some cases, demand records may be for extremely small quantities of a product. Network Optimization must process this data even though it may not have a real impact on the solution.
