Production

Production is used to define the Production Policies in your model.

In addition to generating the policies and constraints, production provides the ability to define:

Defining production data

  1. Navigate to the Production node within Policies & Constraints. By default, Generate Production data is selected. If you do not want to generate production policies, select No Production data generation.

  2. Click Next to continue defining the Production Capabilities.

Production capabilities

Use the Capabilities node under Production to do the following:

  • Select the source of the policies from a set of DDM tables.

  • Optionally generate bills of material for products.

Defining production capabilities

  1. Navigate to the Capabilities node within Production.

  2. Use Select the source to generate Production Capabilities to select the source DDM table for Production Policies. This is one of:
    • Production History - this is the default. Production policies are generated using the production_history DDM table.
    • Orders Full - Production policies are generated using the orders_full DDM table.
    • Shipments Full - Production policies are generated using the shipment_full DDM table.
    • Production Policies - Production policies are generated using the production_policies DDM table.
  3. If you selected "Production History", "Orders Full" or "Shipments Full", select the Multiple Production Locations Rule. This setting determines which production policies are created if products are produced by multiple locations.

    • Include all production locations – this is the default. All source-product combinations from the DDM table are generated.

  4. Your Production capabilities are now complete. Click Next to proceed to Production > Production Costs.

Production costs

Use the Production Costs node under Production to select the source of the production costs from a set of DDM tables.

Defining production costs

  1. Navigate to the Production Costs node within Production. By default, No Production Costs is selected.

  2. Select Select the source for your Production Costs to enable the generation of production costs.

  3.  Select the source DDM table for Production Policies costs. This is one of:
    • Production History - this is the default. Production costs are defined using the production_history DDM table.
    • Production Policies - Production costs are defined using the production_policies DDM table.

Your production costs are now complete.
