Specify grid column properties

  1. Access the properties for the Grid widget.
  2. On the Columns tab of the Grid Properties dialog box, for the column that you want to adjust, select .

    The Column Properties dialog box is displayed.

  3. On the General tab, for Display Format, select .

    The Value Formatting dialog box is displayed.

  4. From the Category field, select the appropriate type of format for the column.
    • General
    • Number
    • Currency
    • Accounting
    • Date and Time
    • Percentage
    • Custom
  5. Adjust any of the associated settings as necessary. The settings displayed depend on the type of category selected.
  6. Use this property To do this
    General format
    Format Specify a format for the column entries.
    Number format
    Format This will display the number format you choose.
    Decimal Places Specify the number of decimal places to display.
    Rounding Method

    Select the rounding method to use.

    • Round

    • Ceiling

    • Floor

    • Truncate

    Use 1000 Separator Select the checkbox to use your region's symbol.
    Trim Trailing Zeros

    Select this checkbox to remove trailing zeros.

    K/M/B Summarization

    Select to display how large numbers are displayed. Choose from the following formats for summarization:

    • 1000000
    • 1 M
    • 1 million
    Currency format
    Format This will display the currency format you choose.
    Currency Code Select the appropriate currency from the list.
    Symbol Form Select whether to display the corresponding currency symbol or text representation of the currency.
    Decimal Places

    Select the number of decimal places to display.

    Rounding Method

    Select the rounding method to use.

    • Round

    • Ceiling

    • Floor

    • Truncate

    Use 1000 Separator

    Select the checkbox to use your region's symbol.

    Trim Trailing Zeros

    Select this checkbox to remove trailing zeros.

    K/M/B Summarization

    Select to display how large numbers are displayed. Choose from the following formats for summarization:

    • 1000000
    • 1 M
    • 1 million

    Format This will display the accounting format you choose.
    Currency Code Select the appropriate currency from the list.
    Symbol Form Select whether to display the corresponding currency symbol or text representation of the currency.

    K/M/B Summarization

    Select to display how large numbers are displayed. Choose from the following formats for summarization:

    • 1000000
    • 1 M
    • 1 million
    Custom format
    Format Enter the format to use for values in the column.
  7. Click OK to close the Value Formatting dialog box.
  8. For Tooltip, type the text that you want to display.
  9. If you want to specify a condition for editing the column values, for Column Is Editable If, select , and then construct the query as necessary.
  10. Select the Show CSV as Spark-line to create a sparkle line.
  11. On the Validation tab, choose the type of validation to perform, if any. The choices available will depend on the Grid properties.
    • None
    • Select From Predefined List
      • You can import a list of values by clicking the Import Values From Table button and selecting a table.
      • If you want to allow users to select multiple items from a list of values, select the Enable Multi-Select checkbox. Users entering data see a dropdown with a multi-select list of values. The list will include the values in the predefined list, along with any combinations of those values that exist in the column. A Select All option will also be displayed.
        Note: This feature is controlled by a Coupa feature toggle and needs to be enabled by Coupa for users to see it.

  12. If you need to provide a default value, select the Default tab, select Provide Default, and enter it in the Default Value field.
  13. If you want to include column totals or subtotals for groups within a column, select the Data Summaries tab and select the summaries to include, their position on the grid, and any additional formatting you require.
  14. Click OK to close the Column Properties dialog box.
  15. Click OK to close the Grid Properties dialog box.
  16. Near the top of the Layout Designer pane, select Save Changes.
