Define a map line

  1. Access the properties for a Map widget.
  2. On the Series tab, select Add Line or select the "Create copy" icon for an existing line.

    The New Map Line dialog box is displayed.

  3. On the General tab, adjust the following:
    • Name — type a name for the line.
    • Description — type a description of the line.
    • Series Color — specify the line color.
    • From Latitude — select and construct a query as necessary.
    • From Longitude — select and construct a query as necessary.
    • To Latitude — select and construct a query as necessary.
    • To Longitude — select and construct a query as necessary.
    • From Node — select and construct a query as necessary.
    • To Node — select and construct a query as necessary.
  4. On the Tooltips tab, adjust the following:
    • K/M/B Summarization — Select this option to display amounts in summarized notation.
    • Header — select and construct a query as necessary.
    • Font Size — select the font size for the header.
    • Font Preview — shows you a preview of how your font selections will affect the title.
    • Bold — select this to format the header in bold text.
    • Italic — select this to format the header in italics.
    • Lines — select Add Statement and construct a query as necessary.
    • Font Size — select the font size for the line's tooltip.
    • Font Preview — shows you a preview of how your font selections will affect the line's tooltip.
    • Bold — select this to format the line's tooltip in bold text.
    • Italic — select this to format the line's tooltip in italics.
  5. On the Format tab, adjust the following:
    • Width Weighting Function — construct a query to dynamically define the line width according to your data.
    • Width Maximum Weight — specify the maximum line width.
    • Width Minimum Weight — specify the minimum line width.
    • Width Multiplier — specify the width multiplier.
    • Arrow Style — add an arrow end to each line on the map. Choose one of the following:
      • None
      • Open Wide
      • Filled Wide
      • Open Narrow
      • Filled Narrow
    • Show Marker — display an image to identify the line on the map.
    • Enable Animation — animate the marker so that it moves along the line.
    • Select icon — select Change icon, and specify an icon.
    • Size — specify the size of the marker.
    • Marker Color — specify a color for the marker.
    • Animation Weighting Function — construct a query to dynamically define the animation weight according to your data.
    • Animation Maximum Weight — specify the maximum animation weight.
    • Animation Minimum Weight — specify the minimum animation weight.
    • Animation Multiplier — specify the animation multiplier.
  6.  On the Advanced tab, adjust the following:
    • Conditions — select Add Statement and then construct a query as necessary.
    • Sort By — select Add Statement and then construct a query as necessary.
    • Only The First [value] Records — enter the number of records to limit the display to the specified number of records with the highest values.
  7. Click OK.
