Units Of Measure

Internal Table Name: UnitOfMeasure

The Units Of Measure table contains definitions of standard units of measure for several measure types. You categorize the unit as Quantity, Weight, Volume, Time, Area, Distance or Speed. You control the default Unit Of Measure per Measure Type in Model Settings > Default Units and Currency.

Do not delete the unit of measure record with the Name "Mile". This unit of measure is required for internal distance calculations when running scenarios with the various technologies.
You cannot control values in columns in the Units of Measure table using Scenario Items. When the scenario is run, the units of measure are evaluated prior to applying the Scenario Items.

Select the type of measure for the Unit Of Measure definition. This is one of:

  • Quantity
  • Weight
  • Volume
  • Time
  • Area
  • Distance
  • Speed

The Unit Of Measure will be available for use based on the Measure Type.

Enter an abbreviation used to represent the Unit Of Measure.

UOM Name

Enter the name for the Unit Of Measure.

Ratio

Technology: All

Table: UnitOfMeasure

Internal Name: Ratio

Type: Number (Float)

Use the Ratio to determine how the Unit Of Measure is evaluated. For example, for Quantity Units Of Measure, “Each” is set to 1.00, while “Dozen” is set to 12.00.
