Site Shipping Spaces

Internal Table Name: SiteShippingSpaces

Use the Site Shipping Spaces to define spaces at a specific site that are to be used for dispatch and receipt of products.

Name

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: SpaceName

Type: Short Text (100)

Enter a unique name for your shipping space.

Site

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: SiteName

Type: Short Text (100)

Enter the site where this shipping space is located. This is the Name from the Sites table.

Initial Period

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: InitialPeriod

Type: Short Text (100)

In multi-period models, select the period in which the shipping space is initially active. Once the space is active, it is included in the site for the remainder of the horizon. If no period is selected, the space is active from the start of the model horizon.

Throughput-Space Ratio

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: ThroughputSpaceRatio

Type: Double

Provide the ratio that defines the site floor space consumed by one unit of product throughput. For example, if the ratio is 0.05, 20 units of flow consume 1 unit of floor space.

Min Floor Space

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: MinFloorSpace

Type: Short Text (100)

Enter the minimum floor space consumed by the space regardless of product shipping. If the total space required for product shipping is less than the minimum, the Min Floor Space will be reported as part of the site Unused Floor Space.

Enter a value, then optionally select an area unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Area Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used.

Max Floor Space

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: MaxFloorSpace

Type: Short Text (100)

Enter the maximum floor space available for product shipping. This space can be increased through expansion. Without expansion, the Max Floor Space sets a limit on the quantity of product that can be shipped to/from the space.

Enter a value, then optionally select an area unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Area Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used.

Min Floor Expansion

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: MinFloorExpansion

Type: Short Text (100)

Enter the minimum floor space to expand the space if expansion is required. The expanded space is added to the current Max Floor Space. For example, if the Max Floor Space is 500 square feet and the Min Floor Expansion is 50 square feet, the minimum after expansion is 550 square feet.

Enter a value, then optionally select an area unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Area Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used.

Max Floor Expansion

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: MaxFloorExpansion

Type: Short Text (100)

Enter the maximum floor space to expand the space if expansion is required. The expanded space is added to the current Max Floor Space. The total maximum allowable space is Max Floor Space + Max Floor Expansion.

Enter a value, then optionally select an area unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Area Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used.

Floor Expansion Cost

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: FloorExpansionCost

Type: Number Short Text (100)

Enter the cost per unit of floor space incurred when the space is expanded. This is incurred as a one-time cost in the period in which the expansion occurs. For example, if the Floor Expansion Cost is 50 and the expansion space is 100 square feet, the one-time expansion cost is 5000.

Enter a value, then optionally select a currency. If you do not select a currency, the default Currency from Model Settings is used.

PercentUtilized

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: PercentFull

Type: Double

This column is the effective capacity of the space. If you set the Percent Full to a value less than 100, the space has less capacity that what it consumes in the site. You can use this to account for space used for aisles or other dead space in the location. For example, if you set the value to 80, then 20 percent of the floor space cannot be used for product shipping.

Status

Technology: NO

Table: SiteShippingSpaces

Internal Name: Status

Type: Short Text (10)

One of Include, Exclude.

The status field defines whether this shipping space will be included or excluded during optimization runs.

Choose the shipping space status:

  • Include – This shipping space will be included in an optimization run.
  • Exclude – This shipping space will be excluded from an optimization run.
