Service Level Optimization Parameters

Internal Table Name: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Use this table to define the inventory policy details for product sets per site and period to be used in Service Level Optimization.

Period Name

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: PeriodName

Type: Short Text (50)

One of (ALL_Periods), period name, period group.

Select the period for which the service level constraint applies. In a single period model, the service level constraints apply to the model horizon. In a multi-period model, you must select the period to which the service level constraints apply.

Select (ALL_Periods) if you want the service level constraints to be applied to all periods in a multi-period model.

Site

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: SiteName

Type: Short Text (100)

Select the site for which the service level constraint applies. For Service Level Optimization, this is a single customer-facing site.

Product Set

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: ProductSetName

Type: Short Text (100)

Select the product group for which the service level constraint applies. The product group is applied as “All” in order to be valid for the Product Set Inventory Policy.

Minimum Service Level

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: MinServiceLevel

Type: Number (Float)

Enter the minimum required service level of the product set for customer-facing sites. The number must be input as a decimal - that is, 95% would be input as .95, not 95. A service level value of .50 ensures that no safety stock is held (that is, if the service definition is Type 1).

Maximum Service Level

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: MaxServiceLevel

Type: Number (Float)

Enter the maximum allowed service level of the product set for customer-facing sites. The number must be input as a decimal - that is, 95% would be input as .95, not 95.

Objective Type

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: ObjectiveType

Type: Short Text (50)

One of Min Cost, Max Profit, Max Revenue, Max Average Service Level.

Select the Objective to be used when running Service Level Optimization for the Product Set at the Site. Service Level Optimization works to achieve the selected objective across a set of products while finding a service level within targeted values. The objective is one of:

  • Min Cost – Service Level Optimization will seek to minimize the safety stock cost of the solution while achieving a service level within the target range across the set of products.
  • Max Profit – Service Level Optimization will seek to maximize the profit of the solution while achieving a service level within the target range across the set of products.
  • Max Revenue – Service Level Optimization will seek to maximize the revenue (not incurring cost) in the solution while achieving a service level within the target range across the set of products.
  • Max Average Service Level – Service Level Optimization will seek to maximize the average service level across the set of products within the budget defined by the Inventory Budget.

Target Average Service Level

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: TargetAverageServiceLevel

Type: Number (Float)

Enter the average service level of the product set for the site. The number must be input as a decimal - that is, 95% would be input as .95, not 95.

When you select "Min Cost", "Max Profit" or "Max Revenue" as the Objective Type then the default value will be set to 0.95. This value is not used when the Objective Type is “Max Average Service Level”.

Cycle Stock

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: CycleStock

Type: Short Text (25)

One of Include, Exclude.

Use this column to determine if Service Level Optimization should consider Cycle Stock. By default, this column is set to “Exclude”. Select “Include” to have Cycle Stock considered during Service Level Optimization.

Default: Exclude

Inventory Budget

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: InventoryBudget

Type: Number (Float)

Use the Inventory Budget to determine the maximum Safety Stock value. This value is used when you select "Max Average Service Level" as the Objective Type. In this case, the default value will be set to 1000000.

Inventory Basis

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: InvBasis

Type: Short Text (25)

One of Weight, Quantity, Cubic, Price, Value.

Use this column to determine the basis by which inventory is evaluated during Service Level Optimization. By default, this column is set to “Value”. You can select one of “Weight”, “Quantity”, “Cubic”, “Price” or “Value”.

Default: Value

Status

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationParameters

Internal Name: Status

Type: Short Text (25)

One of Include, Exclude.

Use this field to exclude Service Level Optimization Parameters records from Safety Stock Optimization.

Default: Include
