Service Level Optimization Constraints

Internal Table Name: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

You can use the Service Level Optimization Parameter table to define a minimum/maximum service level range at a given customer facing site for a product set. However, within that product set, you may have critical SKUs where the service level cannot be compromised. You can use the Service Level Optimization Constraints table to model a specific service level target for strategic SKUs within a product set, in addition to the overall service level range for the product set.

For example:

Consider SKUs Soda_1, Soda_2 and Soda_3 at a DC. These SKUs are part of a product set and have a min/max service level range of 90% to 98% respectively, as defined in Service Level Optimization Parameters.

Soda_3 is critical to prevent stock outs and needs to be at a service level of 98%. You define this requirement in the Service Level Optimization Constraints table.

Period

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

Internal Name: PeriodName

Type: Short Text (50)

Select the period for which the service level constraint applies. In a single period model, the safety stock constraints apply to the model horizon. In a multi-period model, you must select the period to which the service level constraints apply.

Product

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

Internal Name: ProductName

Type: Short Text (100)

Select the product for which the service level constraint applies.

Site

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

Internal Name: SiteName

Type: Short Text (100)

Select the site for which the service level constraint applies.

Product Set

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

Internal Name: ProductSetName

Type: Short Text (100)

Select the product set to which the service level constraint applies. This collection of products will be handled using the “Each” approach; that is, each member defined in the group will be expanded while running the model.

Minimum Service Level

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

Internal Name: MinServiceLevel

Type: Number (Float)

Enter the minimum service level that must be achieved.

Maximum Service Level

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

Internal Name: MaxServiceLevel

Type: Number (Float)

Enter the maximum service level that can be reached.

Notes

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

Internal Name: Notes

Type: Memo

Use this field to enter notes related to the service level optimization constraint.

Status

Technology: IO

Table: ServiceLevelOptimizationProductConstraints

Internal Name: Status

Type: Short Text (25)

One of Include, Exclude.

Specify whether or not to include the specific constraint in the model.

Default: Include
