Sourcing Policies Make policies (Production Policies)

The Avg Unit Cost (for NO) and Sourcing Unit Cost (for SIM) columns have now been combined into one Unit Production Cost columncin the Production Policies table. During conversion from 8.4.x, if a Make Sourcing Policies record has both column populated, an additional copy of each resulting Production Policies record is created – one migrates Avg Unit Cost to Unit Production Cost; the other migrates Sourcing Unit Cost to Unit Production Cost. By default, one of the two records will have Status = Exclude. The Notes columns indicates if the records are “NO Generated” or “SIM Generated”. If you need both sets of records (for running both Network Optimization and Simulation), you can use a Scenario Item to filter for the appropriate Notes value and adjust the Status. If you do not need both sets, you can filter for the Notes value of the unneeded records and delete them.

If your Make policy included a value for Source Lead Time, please note that this value will not be mapped to a field in the Production Policies table. You can manually apply it to the Fixed Order Time. Keep in mind that the Production Time from the original Sourcing Policies record is designed to map to Production Policies Fixed Order Time. The Source Lead Time is designed to be used for sourcing policies and will be transferred to the Site Sourcing Policies or Customer Sourcing Policies as required.

The lead time calculation for production lead time has changed from (Source Lead Time + Production Time + Inventory Periods.Review Period time) to (Production Policies.Fixed Order Time + Inventory Periods.Review Period time).

In Supply Chain Guru 8.4.x, when a Sourcing Policy had a Process defined, the Cost Per Unit on the Process record was used in place of the Avg Unit Cost on the Sourcing Policy record. In Supply Chain Guru X, these two costs are additive – the Unit Production Cost from Production Policies and the Unit Process Cost from the Production Process Steps are both included in the Total Production Cost. In this case, you will need to delete the Unit Production Cost in order to have the same results as in Supply Chain Guru 8.x. This construct is true for all Process Steps tables in Supply Chain Guru X (Production, Sourcing, Inventory, Transportation and Returns). The total cost includes both the policy cost and the process cost.
