Production
Internal Table Name: Production
The Production table is used by Network Optimization and Simulation. Network Optimization requires a Production Process in order to use the Production table. Use the Production Processes, Production Process Steps and Production Process Assignments tables to set up the Production Process.
Site
Technology: NO S
Table: Production
Internal Name: SiteName
Type: Short Text (100)
Enter the site or site group that will be producing the product.
Product
Technology: NO S
Table: Production
Internal Name: ProductName
Type: Short Text (100)
Enter the name of the product or product group to be produced.
Process
Technology: NO S
Table: Production
Internal Name: ProcessName
Type: Short Text (100)
Specify the relevant Production Process used in the production.
Network Optimization: You must enter a Production Process name for Network Optimization to use the Production record. When using a "Make by Schedule" Production Policy in the Production Policies table, you must populate the Process in the Production record in order to have minimum production constraints generated.
Quantity
Technology: NO S
Table: Production
Internal Name: Quantity
Type: Short Text (50)
Enter the amount of product to be produced. Enter a value, then optionally select a quantity, weight or volume unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Quantity Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used. You can also specify a probability distribution by clicking on the field builder.
Default: 1
Unit Weight Override
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: UnitWeight
Type: Short Text (50)
Specify the desired weight of production. Enter a value, then optionally select a weight unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Weight Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used. If no value is populated in Unit Weight Override, the Weight from the Products table is used.
Unit Volume Override
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: UnitCubic
Type: Short Text (50)
Specify the desired volume of production. Enter a value, then optionally select a volume unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Volume Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used. If no value is populated in Unit Volume Override, the Volume from the Products table is used.
Order Date
Technology: NO S
Table: Production
Internal Name: ArrivalTime
Type: Date/Time
Enter the date on which the production should begin.
Order Date Formula
Technology: NO S
Table: Production
Internal Name: ArrivalTimeFormula
Type: Short Text (50)
Enter the number or distribution that defines when the production should begin. Enter a value, then optionally select a time unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Time Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used. If the value is a number, it will be offset from the start of the model horizon.
Due Date
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: DueDate
Type: Date/Time
Used to specify the date by which a production must be completed. You can alternatively use the Due Date Formula field to define a number or distribution to define the date for production completion.
Due Date Formula
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: DueDateFormula
Type: Short Text (50)
Enter the number or distribution that defines when the production must be completed. Enter a value, then optionally select a time unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Time Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used. If the value is a number, it will be offset from the start of the model horizon.
Due Date Formula has a field builder associated with it.
If you populate both Due Date and Due Date Formula, Due Data Formula is used when the model is run.
Due Date examples are shown below:
If you want the Due Date to occur: | Enter |
As soon as the production begins | 0 or leave blank |
1 day after the production begins | 1 |
On a particular day | Use the Due Date field |
Occurrences
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: Occurrences
Type: Short Text (50)
Enter how many times this production will occur. Production must occur at least once. When you enter a number greater than one, production will occur multiple times.
If you want the Occurrence to take place: | Enter |
1 time | 1 |
10 times | 10 |
As long as the simulation runs | INF |
Default: 1
Production Frequency
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: InterArrivalTime
Type: Short Text (50)
Enter how much time must pass between each recurring production. Enter a value, then optionally select a time unit of measure. If you do not select a unit of measure, the default Time Unit Of Measure from Model Settings is used. It is directly connected with the Occurrences. For example, Production Frequency can be 24 Hour, meaning that production must recur every 24 hours.
Production Frequency examples are shown below:
If you want: | Enter |
Recurring daily production | 1 DAY or leave blank |
Occurrences: INF | |
Randomly occurring production according to a triangular distribution | T(1,3,4) DAY |
Occurrences: INF |
Tracking ID
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: TrackingID
Type: Short Text (50)
Enter a tracking number for your reference. This number is not used in any calculations.
Priority
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: Priority
Type: Short Text (50)
Specify the priority by which products are produced. This is useful in differentiating production based on the relative importance of products.
Seed
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: Seed
Type: Number (Long Integer)
Use this field to control the pattern used for production. For example, if you have customers that should follow the same production pattern, you can populate the Seed value with the same value in the production records for these items. By default, this field is not populated and the seed value is determined based on the order in which the production is processed. As a result, it is somewhat random in its results.
Status
Technology: NO S
Table: Production
Internal Name: Status
Type: Short Text (50)
One of Include, Exclude
Choose the Production status:
- Include - This Production will be included when the model is run.
- Exclude - This Production will be excluded when the model is run.
Default: Include
Notes
Technology: S
Table: Production
Internal Name: ProductionNotes
Type: Memo
Enter optional descriptive notes about the production.
