Populate the Shipping Rates table
You use the Shipping Rates table to set up the origin-destination-weight-freight class combinations for which you want to calculate rates. The Shipping Rates table can be populated based on information in the Transportation Policies table and the Shipments table. You can also manually enter records directly in the Shipping Rates table.
When populating records in the Shipping Rates table, keep the following in mind:

- Open the Shipping Rates table.
- Click Generate Data. You see the Generate Shipping Rates Data form.
- Select the table to use as the Shipping Rates Data Source. This is one of:
- Transportation Policies
- Shipments
Refer to Data requirements for shipping rates for additional information.
- If required, set the “Keep Current Shipping Rates Data” switch:
- Selected – Records generated are appended to the existing records in the table.
- Not selected – Existing records are replaced with the new records.
- Click Generate. Records for each unique combination as specified by the following values:
- Origin Country
- Origin Postal Code
- Destination Country
- Destination Postal Code
- Shipment Weight
- Freight Class (for RateWare XL only)
Data requirements for shipping rates
You can generate shipping rates from the Transportation Policies table and from the Shipments table. In order to get valid Shipping Rates records, you need the following data:
