Maps

Maps provide a graphical representation of a model based on geography. If the sites and customers in the model are geocoded with Latitude and Longitude values, then those locations appear on the map in the correct geographic position. Maps can be used to represent any location-based supply chain scenario or model.

You can control the display of locations and the connections between them using colors, shapes and other attributes.

Maps also support shape files and service area mapping.

Adding and deleting maps

  1. Select Analyze > Maps.
  2. Click New Map. A new map is created and opened. The default name is New Map (n), where n is an incrementing number.
  3. Edit the map name as required using the edit function.

The default basemaps is "Mapbox Emerald" and should be displayed even if you do not have an account key for Mapbox. If no basemap is displayed when you create a new map, select another basemap from the Maps dropdown list. The set of available basemaps will vary based on which providers have valid account keys, as defined in Geodata settings. The "Natural Earth (local)" basemap does not use an internet provider and does not require an account key.

    1. Select Analyze > Maps.
    2. Select the map name or thumbnail in the navigation pane.
    3. Click Delete . You are asked to confirm the deletion.
    4. Click Yes. The map is deleted.

    3. Click Copy . The map is copied with a default name of <MapName> (n), where n is an incrementing number.

Searching maps

You can search within the list of map names using the maps filter. Start typing in the maps filter. Map names that contain the characters are displayed in the list box.

Wildcards are not required. Map names containing the search characters are displayed, regardless of where in the map name the characters are located.

You can set the maps navigation pane to show map names or thumbnail views of the actual maps.

  1. Select Analyze > Maps.
  2. At the top of the Maps navigation pane, use to select one of:
    • Standard – Map names are listed in the navigation pane.
    • Thumbnail – Thumbnail views of maps are listed in the navigation pane.

You can drag and drop the map names or thumbnails to change the order in which they are displayed in the navigation pane.
