LTL Rate

Internal Table Name: LTLRate

You use the LTL Rate table to define specific carrier-based costs for origin-destination and optionally product combinations. The Origin and Destination values you populate depend on the Origin Definition and Destination Definition (such as State, Country and Postal Code). Least cost valid rates per shipment are populated in the LTL Costing Summary table for use in costing routes for Transportation Optimization.

Select the type of location for the Origin of the LTL Rate. This is one of:

  • Name – The Name value of the Customer or Site.
  • City – The City value from the Customer or Site record.
  • State – The State value from the Customer or Site record.
  • Postal Code – The Postal Code value from the Customer or Site record.
  • 3 Digit Zip – The first 3 digits of the Postal Code from the Customer or Site record.
  • Country – The Country value from the Customer or Site record.
  • Organization – The Organization value from the Customer or Site record.
  • Custom 1 – The Custom 1 value from the Customer or Site record.
  • Custom 2 – The Custom 2 value from the Customer or Site record.

Select the type of location for the Destination of the LTL Rate. This is one of:

  • Name – The Name value of the Customer or Site.
  • City – The City value from the Customer or Site record.
  • State – The State value from the Customer or Site record.
  • Postal Code – The Postal Code value from the Customer or Site record.
  • 3 Digit Zip – The first 3 digits of the Postal Code from the Customer or Site record.
  • Country – The Country value from the Customer or Site record.
  • Organization – The Organization value from the Customer or Site record.
  • Custom 1 – The Custom 1 value from the Customer or Site record.
  • Custom 2 – The Custom 2 value from the Customer or Site record.

Enter the product name to which the LTL Rate applies. This value is used to identify the Freight Class.

Base Cost

Enter the base cost for the LTL rate, or select a Rate Source from the Shipping Rates table to populate the Base Cost. The Discount Rate and Fuel Surcharge are applied to the Base Cost.

Discount Rate

Enter the discount factor that is applied to the Base Cost. This is applied as:

Base Cost * (1 - Discount Rate / 100)

Minimum Charge

Enter the minimum charge that must be incurred. If the calculated LTL Rate (using Base Cost, Discount Rate, and Fuel Surcharge) is less than the Minimum Charge, the Minimum Charge is applied.

Enter the fuel surcharge that is applied to the Base Cost. This is applied as:

Transit Time

Enter the time incurred to transport the shipment from the Origin to the Destination.

Minimum Weight
