Inventory Summary

Internal Table Name: InvOptimOutput_ResultsSummary

The Inventory Summary provides a way to understand Safety Stock Optimization recommendations aggregated at the scenario level. This lets you quickly understand key metrics like total cost and total safety stock needed. It also details model settings that were used, such as the type of aggregation, the service type, and the gap %.

The scenario for which the output data was generated.

Run Type

Table: InvOptimOutput_ResultsSummary

Internal Name: RunType

Displays the Run Type that was selected when the scenario was run. It is one of:

  • SafetyStockOptimization
  • ServiceLevelOptimization
  • SSO_SLO_Optimization – This is Safety Stock + Service Level Optimization

Aggregation Type

Internal Name: AggregationType

Displays the aggregation level selected when the scenario was run. It is one of Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

Demand Propagation Type

Internal Name: DemandPropagationType

Displays the demand propagation used in Demand Analysis. It is one of DemandSeries or Formula.

Total Safety Stock Cost

Internal Name: TotalSafetyStockCost

Displays the cost of holding the safety stock for the scenario.

Total Safety Stock Cost = (Total Safety Stock * Product Value * Inventory holding cost % * (Period Length/365 days)) + (Total Safety Stock * Unit Storage Cost)

The Period Length is affected by the Work Week setting in Safety Stock Options. For example, if your Period is one year and the Work Week is 7 Days, the Period Length is 365. If the Work Week is 5 Days, the length is 261. You can see the period length in the Aggregation Level column in the Customer Demand Profile output table.

Total Inventory Cost

Displays the total cost incurred for holding inventory in the scenario. It is calculated as:

Total Inventory Cost = (Total Inventory * Product Value * Inventory Holding Cost % * (Period Length/365 days)) + (Total Inventory * Unit Storage Cost)

Total Cycle Stock Cost

Internal Name: TotalCycleStockCost

Displays the cost incurred to hold cycle stock for the scenario. It is calculated as:

Total Cycle Stock Cost = (Cycle Stock * Product Value * Inventory holding cost % * (Period Length / 365 days)) + (Total Cycle Stock * Unit Storage Cost)

Total Work In Progress Inventory Cost

Internal Name: TotalWorkInProgressInventoryCost

Displays the cost incurred to hold Work In Progress Inventory. It is calculated as:

Total Work In Progress Inventory Cost = (Total Work in Progress Inventory * Product Value * Inventory Holding Cost % * (Period Length / 365 days)) + (Total Work In Progress Inventory * Unit Storage Cost)

Week Days

Table: InvOptimOutput_ResultsSummary

Internal Name: WeekDays

Displays the number of days in a work week (one of 5 or 7) based on the Safety Stock Optimization setting.

Echelon Mode

Table: InvOptimOutput_ResultsSummary

Internal Name: EchelonMode

Displays either SingleEchelon or MultiEchelon based on the Safety Stock Optimization setting.

Scenario ID

Table: InvOptimOutput_ResultsSummary

Internal Name: ScenarioID

The identifier of the scenario for which the summary data was generated.

Sub-Scenario ID

Table: InvOptimOutput_ResultsSummary

Internal Name: StepNumber

The identifier of the sub-scenario, if applicable, for which the summary data was generated.
