CO2
In the Transportation Policies and Transportation Assets tables, you can define the amount of CO2 that is produced as well as the basis by which this CO2 amount should be applied. For example, you may have a CO2 value of 0.035 applied per Weight-Distance.
The field builders on the CO2 and CO2 Basis columns can be used to define both the CO2 value and the way in which it is applied.

You can define the CO2 value in the following ways:
- Enter a number. By default, this will use the default weight unit of measure.
- Optionally apply a unit of measure to the CO2 value itself (such as 0.035 LB).
- Use the transportation method field builder:
- Select the transportation method builder
. You see predefined transportation methods.
- Select the method you want to use, such as US EPA - Rail. The associated CO2 value for this method is populated for the CO2.
When a transportation method is selected, the CO2 Basis is set to "T-MI".
- Select the transportation method builder

You define the CO2 Basis using a two-part field builder:
- Select the unit of measure builder
. You see a drop-down list of CO2 basis values.
- Select the basis, such as Weight-Distance. The units of measure for each component (in this example Weight and Distance) are displayed in lists.
- Select the unit of measure for each component of the CO2 Basis, such as T and MI (for Ton-Mile)
