Archiving
One of the best ways to save projects and models is to use the Create Project Archive function. When you archive a project, Supply Chain Guru X creates a compressed file with an .scgz extension that contains all project, model files, and external data sources. You can easily access the data at a later time by restoring the archive in Supply Chain Guru X.
The Archive function provides options to control the contents of the archive.
The Open Archive function restores the contents of a file created with the Create Archive function. The project, associated model databases, and external data sources that were stored in the archive are unpacked.

- Select the project you want to archive and click Archive. The Create Project Archive window is displayed.
- Select each of the models from the current project to be included in the archive. You can select any combination of models for the archive.
- You can enter text in the Filter field to limit the set of models listed for selection.
- Alternately, you can use the Select All Models function to select all project models for inclusion in the archive.
- You can use the Clear Selected function to clear any selections you have made.
- As you select models, the Models Selected value is updated to reflect the total number of models you have selected.
- Select the Show Selected Only check box to limit the display to only those models you have flagged as selected.
- Enter the name of the Archive Folder Path or click Browse (...) to navigate to the destination for the archive. The default name for the archive file is <Project Name> (archive).scgz.
- Select the Archive Folder Options you want to use:
- Clear Output Data – If you select this option, all output (optimization, simulation and demand analysis) is cleared from the models.
- Zip External Data Sources – If you select this option, all external data sources (used with input pipes) are included in the archive.
- Include Input/Output Files – If you select this option, folders with solver input and output for any scenarios you have run are included in the archive.
- Click Archive. Supply Chain Guru X creates the .scgz archive. If an archive for the selected project already exists in the archive folder path, a new archive is created with an incremented number (i.e. (1)) appended to the archive name.

- On the Supply Chain Guru X start page, or from the File menu, select Open Archive. If a model is currently open, you will be asked if you want to close the model and continue to open the archive.
- Click Yes to close the current model and continue with the Open Archive function.
- Navigate to the folder where the archive (.scgz file) is located, select the archive name and click Open.
- The archive is restored and the archived project is opened.
