Advanced costing
You can use both linear (single) values and step functions for many fields throughout the model. For example, when applying a cost to a transportation policy, you can define
- a single value, such as $1.20 per mile.
- cost values based on throughput, such as $1.20 per mile for the first 1000 units, then $1.10 per mile for 1001 units and higher.
Single (or linear) values are defined directly in the table to which they apply. Using the transportation policy cost example, enter 1.2 as the Variable Transportation Cost on the Transportation Policies table.
For step functions, there are several features available, depending on the level of detail required:
In addition, for transportation costing, you can use Multi-stop estimation to approximate more accurate costing.
