Forecast horizon

A forecast horizon refers to the number of periods for which a forecast is generated. For example, if you are forecasting weekly data for 12 periods in the future, your forecast horizon is 12. If you forecast monthly data for the next three periods, the forecast horizon is 3. A smaller forecast horizon leads to more accurate results, provided that a sufficient number of data points are available in the time series (demand history).
