Import Connections

Data Guru allows you to import connections. Connections available for import are identified by a .dglib extension.

Note that importing a connection only transfers its definition, and not the underlying data to which the connection refers.

To import a connection:

  1. On the menu bar, select Connections > Import Connections to display the Import Connections screen.

  2. To specify the connection(s) to be imported, use the browse icon next to the Import From field to locate and select the connection file(s).

  3. Use the single right or left arrow icon to move a selected connection to or from the list of connections to be imported; press and hold the Ctrl key to select multiple connections. Use the double right or left arrow icons to move all connections.

Note that if a connection with the same name exists, it is identified by a warning icon to the right of the connection name, as shown in this example.

  4. Click OK on the Import Connections screen.

Note that if you are overwriting an existing connection, a warning prompts you for confirmation.

  5. Click Continue to confirm.

The imported connection is now available for use.
