Deleting files

The Delete File action allows you to delete one or more local or network files. You can also configure the action to return either a warning or an error for non-existent files at runtime.

On the Connections tab:

  1. Enter a name and description.

  2. Select the option for non-existent files.

  3. Click the Add Files icon to select individual existing files to be deleted.

  4. For files that cannot be selected using the browse and select method, enter the file path and click the Add icon.

  5. Review the files to be deleted. Click the Delete icon to remove files as needed from this list.

The most common application is to remove files that are unused or no longer needed.

Delete a file

  1. Drag the Delete File icon onto the design surface.
  2. Enter a Name and a Description to identify this action.
  3. Click the icon above the Files to Delete area to browse for and select a file for deletion. By default, the list of files displayed are those within the default project folders. You can use the Ctrl key to select multiple files at one time.

To add a file for deletion that does not appear in the list of available files, enter the file path in the field above the list of files, and click the Add icon.

  4. Select the Warn or Error options to indicate what happens when any of the selected files cannot be deleted. Warnings appear in the output, while errors prevent the action from executing.
