Importing data from Data Cube

Available for licensed Demand Guru users only, the Data Cube Import action connects to Data Cube, allowing you to create filtered collections of time series data that can be used to explore key external factors that drive customer demand. You can:

  • Access external time series data, such as weather and economic information, to define individual time series collections for each type of information
  • “Pre-filter” data for relevant information
  • Forecast values available for the majority of time series from Trading Economics, 3 years out and quarter by quarter

On the Configuration tab:

  1. Add/select individual time series connections.

  2. Define aggregation and time bucket.

  3. Filter data records.

  4. Apply filters.

Configure a Data Cube Import action

  1. Open the action.
  2. On the Configuration tab , make the necessary changes:
    • In Time Series Collections, select a time series, or hover over the collections area and click the Add icon to create and select a new time series collection.
    • Choose the Time Aggregation method and indicate the Date Range.
    • Use the filters at the top of the data grid to filter records on a per-column basis.
    • Enter a Global search string to find all records containing a common value in any column.
    • Press Enter or click Get Definitions to apply the filters to the Data Cube records.

When the records are filtered, you can hover over a search filter or the Global search string field to view how many records were found based on the value used.

When action is run, a table is generated for each time series collection defined in the action. Each table created includes all records from the Data Cube that match the filters applied for that collection.
