Managing data sources

Data Guru allows you to create connections to a variety of data sources. Connections are displayed in the Connections pane. For Excel Spreadsheet connections, the name of the connection is followed by the number of objects (tables) included in the connection out of the total number of objects within the Excel file.

Connections can also be imported and exported for sharing with other users. When a connection is imported or exported, only its definition is transferred, and not the underlying data to which the connection refers.

Once created, you can open connections by double-clicking on the connection name. To quickly create an import adapter for the connection, drag and drop the connection onto the Design Surface.
